Who We Are

C2You! is based in Switzerland, and supports multinational client companies by providing career and integration services to partners of international assignees who have been recently relocated.

C2You! was founded early 2007. Our team has a professional background in relevant business functions in small and middle sized companies as well as in multinational corporations (Human Resources, Business Development). Thus, being aware of the needs and issues of the employee working in such an environment as well as the needs and issues of the hosting company, we can offer experienced support to the spouses of international assignees, as well as to their partners and employers. With our own experience as expat-partners, we offer our know how to support expat partners in exploring their interests and capabilities in achieving a productive and rewarding personal life while living in Switzerland.

Generally, the satisfaction of the expat partner with her or his life in Switzerland, will contribute to the success of the foreign assignment. From the employers perspective, the main benefit will be to retain valuable talent in important places.

Why C2You?

Several studies underline the importance of addressing the integration and (dual) career needs of expat partners, while joining their partner for an international assignment.

The following text fragments are taken from “The Trailing Spouse Survey”. Findings of a 4-year study into accompanying spouse issues on international assignments, published in 2005 by Yvonne McNulty (author).

Understanding family issues:

“The trailing spouse loses job, friends, and identity. They are arriving with nothing whereas the spouse immediately has something to focus on – new job, colleagues, role”.

“Acknowledge that families play an important role in successful relocations – it’s important to have a designated person available to find information, solve problems, etc. and not having to through one’s spouse to access this".

Next Practices for HR:

“Have someone to look after the needs of the “trailing spouse” for the first several months and show them how things are done, what paper work must be completed, finding doctors, etc”.

“Provide opportunities to meet with or introduction to other trailing spouses or links or clubs etc”.

Understanding Dual Career Challenges:

“My satisfaction on a relocation is affected by how big the disruption is to my career”.

“Trying to wind down one career so that it can be resumed at a later date is very difficult”.

Next practices for HR:

“Educated, professional spouses need to be seen as an asset, to be marketed to the local economy. I would prefer that my wife’s employer spent more effort investigating what I do and using their local connections to make an appropriate match. It would be mutually beneficial in my opinion”.

“Pay for a partner career course and counsellor/coach on the spot to help get a picture of the market. Give me intensive language training and an amount of money to buy information and specialized help during the relocation period”.

“There could have been a more positive attitude toward the importance of my career and a contact for me to talk to, to help us settle in. I didn’t work for 3 months whilst waiting for a work permit and was pretty much left at home while my husband was in training (flying all over Europe)”.
